Marked by a transition from editorial and journalistic work to designing large scale organizational transformations, Thomas’ work is focused on engaging the human mind, liberating the heart, and helping raise courage to act.

Central to his practice are a lifelong fascination with the power of universal, non-verbal languages and with the themes (mortality, spirituality, sexuality, belonging) that unite all of humanity. He sees them as the primal agents of epiphany, passion, imagination and action.

As a leader of multi-disciplinary creative teams and partnerships at SYPartners, Thomas is focussed on helping them establish profound, vivid connections between their own life experiences and the work they are part of.

Thomas believes a vital ingredient to creating these connections is to compel teams to draw from wide and unexpected sources of inspiration, and to embark on courageous, personal paths of inquiry and experience.

Thomas has held positions as Creative Director at Publicis’ MSLGroup, as Art Editor at the Condé Nast Publications Ltd. on titles such as German Vogue, World of Interiors and GQ, and as a designer at Benetton’s COLORS magazine.

His clients have included the World Economic Forum, the Northern Irish Tourist Board, EADS, BP, the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa, Apple, Starbucks, Alcatel-Lucent and Hyatt.

He holds a BFA from Parsons School of Design, is a former apprentice of American painter Jim Dine and nurtures a photography practice currently investigating the connection between light and the identity of cultures and places.
